Manga Jiman 2012 Competition Results

The results of the Manga Jiman 2012 Competition were announced at a reception held at London's Embassy of Japan on 8th February. The major manga-writing competition, now in its sixth year, continues to grow in popularity and unearth young, upcoming manga artists in the UK.

The first prize was awarded to Portuguese-born collaborators Sara Ferreira and Gisela Martins for their entry ‘I Love You’.

Moving House’, another collaboration but from husband and wife duo Susan and Steve Cook, received the runners-up prize while ‘Invidia’ by Katja Hammond was placed third.

Dounia Chanchorle won the prize for the most impressive Manga by an entrant aged between fourteen and sixteen for ‘The Lady In White’.

Manga Jiman 2012 Exhibition: 11 February – 29 March 2013

Visitors to the Embassy can enjoy reading all the shortlisted entries in our special exhibition, Manga Jiman 2012: The Winners, in which artwork from every entry we received this year will also be on display.

Open weekdays 09:30 - 17:30, closed weekends
Admission is free, but photo ID is necessary to gain entry to the Embassy.
